I’LL BE YOUR DOG - EDINBURGH FRINGE 2019 - 1-25 AUGUST - THE CAVES
Lydia is a London based artist making off beat gonzo comedy shows and her current show ‘Lydia Hirst: I’ll Be Your Dog’ is about the people she met and lived alongside in the Calais Jungle (previewed at Camden Comedy Club August 2018).
As a solo artist Lydia performs cabaret and comedy sets across the country. She’s hosted stages at music festivals, led immersive art piss ups and marathon performances of Paradise Lost: collaborating and performing with organisations such as: Camberwell Arts Festival, Salford University, Cambridge University, Milton’s Cottage, Sounds From The Other City, Forced Entertainment, Gorilla, DUCKIE, Camden Comedy Club and Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Lydia co-founded Eggs Collective a Manchester based feminist performance company in 2009. Lydia developed projects through Eggs for five years: during which time she worked on large scale public interventions that gained national press coverage to devised ensemble theatre shows and one off anarchic club nights: collaborating with organisations and venues such as Arts Council England, Contact Theatre, HOME, Z-ARTS, Ted X, Latitude, Islington Mill, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Camden Town Hall, Southbank Centre, WYPH and the RSC.
